Your trusted source for verified moving company reviews and transparent comparisons since 2015.
MoveFinders was founded on a simple principle: finding a trustworthy moving company shouldn't be stressful. After hearing countless stories of moving nightmares and scams, we set out to create a platform that puts consumers first.
We combine verified licensing data, authentic customer reviews, and expert analysis to help you make informed decisions about your move.
MoveFinders was founded in 2015 after our team experienced firsthand how difficult it was to separate legitimate moving companies from bad actors. At the time, the moving industry had a well-documented fraud problem — rogue brokers, inflated estimates, and held-hostage shipments were far too common. We believed consumers deserved better.
We started by manually vetting local movers in a handful of markets, cross-referencing FMCSA licensing records with BBB complaint histories and customer reviews scraped from dozens of platforms. What began as a spreadsheet quickly grew into a structured database — and the demand from users made it clear we had built something people genuinely needed.
Over the following years we expanded our coverage nationwide, built automated pipelines to keep licensing and review data current, and grew our research team to include industry analysts, data engineers, and writers who specialize in consumer protection. Today MoveFinders has analyzed more than 4,500 movers and aggregates over one million customer reviews, making it one of the most comprehensive moving company databases in the United States.
Our editorial and research processes have matured alongside the platform. Every company we feature is checked against active FMCSA operating authority, state licensing where applicable, and Better Business Bureau accreditation and complaint data. We do not accept payment from moving companies to influence rankings — our scores are driven entirely by data.
Our rankings and scores are determined solely by data — licensing status, verified reviews, complaint history, and service quality. We never accept payment to influence how a company is rated or ranked.
Every company in our database is verified against FMCSA records, BBB data, and reviews aggregated across multiple platforms. We evaluate more than 75 data points before publishing a rating.
We work for the people planning a move, not for the moving industry. Every feature we build is designed to save you time, reduce stress, and protect you from fraud.
We continuously improve our data pipelines, review algorithms, and research methodology to stay ahead of industry changes and keep our information as accurate and current as possible.
MoveFinders is run by a US-based team of researchers, analysts, data engineers, and writers united by a shared frustration with the lack of trustworthy information in the moving industry.
Our research analysts are responsible for evaluating individual moving companies. They review licensing records, parse complaint data, and assess customer review patterns to produce the scores and write-ups you see on every company page.
Our data engineering team maintains the pipelines that keep our database current — pulling from FMCSA, the Better Business Bureau, and dozens of review platforms on a continuous basis so that the information you read reflects each company's current standing, not a snapshot from months ago.
Our editorial team produces the guides, comparisons, and moving advice articles you'll find throughout the site. They focus on practical, actionable information — how to vet a mover, what red flags to watch for, what to expect on moving day.
Together, the team has analyzed more than 4,500 moving companies and helped millions of consumers find movers they can trust.
